Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day: 5 Celebrities Who Should Be Packaged With Care

Did you know that today is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day? Apparently for want of some kind of cultural milestone to call its own, a terrible Indiana-based radio station started, nine years ago, to celebrate the advent of the packaging material on the last Monday of every January. This year marks the bailing50th anniversary of bubble wrap. And while popping bubble wrap in between your thumb and forefinger remains the most inexpensive form of therapy that exists, let’s take time out to explore bubble wrap’s primary purpose: To keep things from breaking. After the jump: Five celebrities who could be rolled in bubble wrap for red-eye flights between JFK and LAX to prevent fatigue, exhaustion, and further breakdowns.

• Miley Cyrus. Cyrus is a star who hasn’t burned out completely, but is definitely showing signs of wear’n'tear. But cross-country travel can be quite taxing, especially on such a young starlet. For which reason, reams of bubble wrap will be necessary. Packing peanuts would also be a sensible precaution to make sure Cyrus’ sentience doesn’t  eventually shatter out like Britney Spears’ before her.

Christian Bale. We’re already aware of Bale’s volatilityand the grueling lenghts he’ll go to for the sake of his art. So to make sure that he doesn’t become more unhinged, it may be an excellent idea to triple-wrap him. Should the plane experience some particularly bumpy turbulence, we wouldn’t want Bale to unleash one of his tirades on helpless flight attendants.

Chris Brown. Same as Bale, but Brown may require additional sedatives. Unlike Bale, he hasn’t been on his best behavior lately. The lack of a  fixed date for National Wine Day comes in handy then, as flight attendants should feel free to administer sippy cup after sippy cup of cabernet to Brown.

Leona Lewis. Unlike Cyrus, Lewis is delicate. One has to wonder if all the bubble wrap in America can get Lewis safely to her destination.

* Bai Ling. Seriously. Despite been crowned the Fug Queen, Ling must have the steeliest resolve in the world, to get up morning after morning, and slap on her fugliest mini-dress. And you know what tends to fracture that kind of confidence? A lack of sleep due to jet-setting. Handlers would do well to take extra care with this one, too.

Miley Cyrus: Inside Look at The Last Song!

Miley Cyrusmiely-cyrus-inside-last-song clings to on-screen dad Greg Kinnear in this new inside look for their upcoming flick, The Last Song.

In the MSN Video, author Nicholas Sparks shared, “Like all of my novels, it’s a love story. You’ve got the love between a parent and child and a love blooming for the first time. I want the audience to come out saying, ‘Wow that’s a great film. That’s a film that meant a lot to me.’”

Miley popped in, adding, “Everything Nicholas Sparks has done has really impacted people’s lives. I loved The Notebook. Everything just really has a great message.”

The Last Song hits theaters on Friday, April 2.

Spotted: Miley Cyrus And A Four-Legged Friend

mileyEvery day a multitude of stars wanders through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that’s why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

One thing that can be said about Miley Cyrus: She knows how to accessorize. On a shopping trip on Sunday (January 24), Cyrus hit the town with a dog in tow. She also has classy and expensive taste, as she made a stop at Maxfield in Hollywood, which is a high-quality clothing and interior design boutique. Musically, Cyrus has been sort of quiet lately, though that’s about to change: She’s got the remake of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” with Bret Michaels, a spot on Simon Cowell’s Haiti benefit cover of “Everybody Hurts” (along with Mariah Carey and a host of others) and whatever music we’ll hear from the upcoming Cyrus-starring film “The Last Song.”

Cyrus wasn’t the only star out on the town over the weekend. “Glee” star Cory Monteith was spotted outside the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, while a number of stars made their way to the NRJ Awards in Cannes, France (including Rihanna, Fergie and Pharrell Williams).

Demi Moore Wants Miley Cyrus to Pull Herself Away From That Computer

Aww Mom: Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore are in talks to star in the English-language remake of French hit L.O.L.: Laughing Out Loud. Original writer and director Lisa Azuelos-Alessandrin will handle those duties for the remake of the film, which is about a 15-year-old girl who gets dumped by her boyfriend and decides to go after his best friend. Meanwhile, her recently divorced mother is trying to get over her own relationship issues. Then it gets good: “The fraught relationship between mother and daughter provides the film with its narrative backbone, along with the younger generation’s obsession with instant messaging.” You just just OMGed, didn’t you?

Miley Cyrus likes spontaneous men

The 17-year-old Hannah Montana star, who is presently dating Australian beau Liam Hensworth, revealed what she likes in men.

“I like spontaneous men, guys who go with the flow, appreciate the outdoors,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

“I’m not the kind of person who gets all warm and fuzzy over a candlelit dinner – that’s a little too mushy for my taste. I like the beach. I like to get out and do things,” she added.
